Which V8 Vantage 2005-2017 do you have?1 listed kit · 1 brandReviewed 7 November 2026

The compact V8 from Gaydon.

The current listing is BC Racing YE-01 for the rear-wheel-drive V8 Vantage, with a manufacturer application range of 2005 to 2017. Its broad model row needs checking against the actual car, particularly a Roadster, special edition or previously modified example.

A cleaner wheel fit and a modest drop can be the aim without choosing the lowest possible height. Include the tyre sizes and any spacers in the enquiry, along with the journeys and circuit use you have in mind.

Aston Martin unveiled the production V8 Vantage in 2005, following the AMV8 concept shown two years earlier. UK and European deliveries began that October; North American customers followed in early 2006. The short two-seat body used Aston's bonded-aluminium VH architecture, with a front-mounted V8 and rear-mounted transmission.

The early car had a 4.3-litre V8, followed by a larger 4.7-litre engine. Coupe and Roadster versions shared the V8 Vantage name, while the V12 Vantage had its own specification. The later 4.0-litre twin-turbo Vantage belongs to a different generation and has a separate BC application.

Aston's 2012 range material describes revised steering, wider tyres and brake changes on the ordinary V8, alongside the Vantage S. It also lists sport suspension as a coupe-only option. Keep the original specification with the car's build details when asking about a kit.

On a modified example, the wheels and low front bodywork deserve attention before the height is set. Record any earlier spring or damper change and inspect the parts underneath. Replacement bumpers and wheels can make the car look newer while leaving its original suspension in place.

2005 to 2017 V8: start with YE-01

BC's application table names Vantage RWD, V8 and 2005 to 2017 for YE-01. The current selectable listing is the BR RH configuration. Match that reference to the car's build details and existing mounting parts before ordering.

Later V8 and Vantage S: identify the specification

Include the engine, build year and any original sport suspension. The broad YE-01 row does not spell out each V8 trim or factory package. Ask for the exact application check before replacing the suspension on a later or special-edition car.

Roadster: include the body style

Tell us it is the open car and give its build details. Aston lists the Coupe and Roadster separately in its specifications, while BC's application simply says Vantage V8. Confirm the Roadster application and supplied parts before choosing the kit.

Changed suspension or uncertain history?

Photograph the existing dampers, springs and mounts and include the wheel dimensions. Identify earlier conversions and any changed arms. A V12 Vantage, the later AM6 car or a dedicated race car needs its own confirmed application.

Choose the height around the roads you drive.

Read the buying advice

The current BC Racing BR RH YE-01 is the listed example, subject to the exact V8 application check. The listing specifies nominal 7kg/mm front and 9kg/mm rear springs. Confirm the supplied springs and mounts, then agree a height that leaves usable travel and clearance for your tyres and front bodywork.

  • Confirm YE-01 and the actual V8
  • Check supplied springs and mounts
  • Allow room beneath the front bodywork

Describe the tyres you use, the circuits you visit and how much road driving the car still does. Have the fitter assess the existing suspension and working travel before agreeing springs or settings. Keep a record of height and alignment changes between outings.

  • Describe the tyres and intended use
  • Check travel at the agreed height
  • Record fitting and alignment changes

Give the builder the event rules, tyre choice and details of changed suspension or bodywork. Decide the spring and damper requirements around that complete specification. A road-car YE-01 listing does not establish GT4, N24 or other competition-car compatibility.

Component layout only. Mounts, dimensions and adjusters vary by kit.

The original 2005 V8 Vantage brochure specifies independent suspension with aluminium double wishbones and coil-over aluminium monotube dampers. The rear spring surrounds its damper; it does not sit in a separate spring seat elsewhere on the suspension.

Use the exact kit instructions for mounting parts, spring preload and height adjustment. Have the fitter check the retained joints and available travel before settling on the finished stance.

Check more than the parked arch gap.

Bring the wheel width, offset, tyre size and any spacer thickness. Ask the fitter to check tyre clearance through steering and suspension movement at the intended height. Include the lower front bumper or splitter when discussing the entrances and speed humps the car needs to clear.

Inspect the retained bushes, ball joints and mounting parts before fitting. Record the suspension already on the car and agree the alignment after the running height is set.

Wheels, tyres and clearance

Keep the actual wheel and tyre dimensions with the enquiry. Different offsets, wider tyres or spacers change what the fitter must check under movement. The wheel design in a photograph cannot establish clearance.

Front bodywork and running height

Include any splitter or changed bumper when planning the drop. Agree a usable height for the roads and entrances you use, with enough working suspension travel left.

Existing suspension and alignment

Identify previous spring, damper or mounting changes before choosing the replacement. Worn joints need attention before alignment; keep the final height and settings with the service record.

Questions about Aston Martin V8 Vantage 2005-2017 coilovers.

Check the details before choosing your kit.

Which coilover kit is currently listed for the 2005-2017 V8 Vantage?

The current listing is BC Racing BR RH YE-01, SKU BCR-YE-01. Check its exact application against the car's build details, body style and existing suspension. Open the product configuration for the current retail price and availability.

Does YE-01 cover every V8 Vantage version?

BC's application row names Vantage RWD, V8 and 2005 to 2017, without breaking out every body style or special edition. Confirm Roadster, Vantage S and original sport-package details against the exact kit before ordering.

Can this kit be used on a V12 or 2018-on Vantage?

The YE-01 row identifies the earlier V8 application. BC lists the later AM6 Vantage separately as YE-03. A V12 or competition car needs its own confirmed application; the shared Vantage name is insufficient.

Is the original rear spring separate from the damper?

The original 2005 V8 Vantage brochure describes coil-over dampers within independent double-wishbone suspension. Its rear spring surrounds the damper. Mounting hardware and adjustment instructions still depend on the exact replacement kit.

How low should I set a road-going V8 Vantage?

Agree the height around the car's tyres, available travel and the roads it needs to clear. Have the fitter check through steering and suspension movement and include any low front bodywork. The application row does not supply a universal lowering figure.

What spring rates are on the current YE-01 listing?

The current listing specifies nominal 7kg/mm front and 9kg/mm rear. Confirm the supplied specification before ordering and discuss any different use or changed parts with the fitter. Those numbers alone cannot establish ride comfort or circuit performance.

Does fitting coilovers remove the need to inspect the old suspension?

Have the retained arms, bushes, joints and mounting points inspected before fitting and alignment. Identify any earlier conversion or lowering as well. A new kit does not establish the condition or specification of the parts it connects to.

Will the vehicle finder confirm a modified Vantage's fitment?

The finder helps identify the vehicle. Include the build details, body style and any original sport specification, along with photographs of the current suspension and wheel dimensions, so changes on the car can be checked.
