The coilover guide.
Shop the coiloversBring the CX-30's wheels and arches closer together while keeping room for everyday use. Compare the named N-42 configurations, then match the car's build details and wheel package.
A compact crossover between the CX-3 and CX-5.
Before choosing a drop, think about the journeys the CX-30 still needs to make. A boot full of luggage, passengers in the rear and a steep driveway all use clearance that a parked photograph cannot show. Give the fitter those details alongside the wheels and tyres you want to run.
The current BC Racing N-42 listing names the 2019-on DMEP application with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Its two selectable configurations are BR RS and RM MA. Their front damper construction differs, so compare the supplied specification as well as the mounting parts.
The CX-30 made its debut at Geneva in March 2019, with UK deliveries following in January 2020. It gave Mazda a five-door crossover between the smaller CX-3 and larger CX-5. UK launch choices included Skyactiv-G and Skyactiv-X petrol engines, with all-wheel drive available on Skyactiv-X.
In October 2026 Mazda reported 49,419 UK sales since launch and announced further grades for the 2027 model year. Those updates are a reason to check the build date and complete vehicle identification when ordering suspension. A familiar CX-30 badge does not establish that every engine, market or later revision uses the named DMEP kit.
For a modified road car, plan the wheel package and suspension together. Wider wheels, a different offset or spacers can change where the tyre passes the arch and strut. A useful setup brief explains the ride movement you want to change and the roads you drive, as well as the stance you like.

N-42: the named DMEP application
BC lists the 2019-on CX-30 DMEP with FWD or AWD. Choose between BR RS and inverted-front RM MA only after matching the engine, build date and original market. Confirm the supplied mounts and any original parts the fitter will reuse.

UK engines and driven wheels
Provide the full vehicle identification and engine details for a UK car, including whether it is FWD or AWD. Skyactiv-G and Skyactiv-X badges describe different powertrains; matching a model name or engine capacity alone does not confirm the complete suspension application.

Later revisions and imported cars
Send the original market, complete chassis identification and build date if the car differs from the named DMEP application. Later codes and regional specifications need checking. The open-ended 2019-on label does not approve every future CX-30 revision.

N-42 BR RS is our starting example for the named DMEP application. Its listed configuration uses rubber top mounts. Confirm the complete mounting package and the condition of any reused parts, then agree enough clearance and suspension movement for your roads. Use the supplied setup instructions for the starting settings and make one recorded change at a time.

The N-42 RM MA configuration has an inverted front damper. Discuss that construction, the supplied mounts and the spring specification with the fitter before deciding whether it suits the car's road and circuit use. BR can remain part of the same discussion. Check the event's vehicle rules, prepare the brakes and tyres, and agree a running height with usable travel before making setup changes.

Start with the event regulations and the proposed tyres, operating weight and suspension changes. A specialist needs to assess travel, spring requirements and damper setup for that combination. We have no separately verified CX-30 competition package to recommend here. Discuss the project before treating the RM name or a stiffer spring as proof that a kit suits it.

Separate springs on a torsion-beam rear.
On a standard Mazda CX‑30 DMEP, the rear spring and damper are mounted separately.
Component layout only. Mounts, dimensions and adjusters vary by kit.The CX-30 has MacPherson struts at the front and a torsion-beam rear assembly. At the rear, the coil springs sit on their own seats beside the dampers. Changing the springs and dampers retains that basic beam arrangement.
Rear height setting therefore needs the selected kit's instructions for its spring seats and damper setup. Do not apply the front strut's adjustment method to every corner. Confirm the supplied seats, insulators and mounts, plus any original parts that remain, before the installation is planned.
Understand ride height and preload
Keep room for the wheels to move.
A visual check can spot obvious clearance concerns, but the fitter still needs to assess the wheel and tyre through steering and suspension movement at the proposed height. Take the diameter, width and offset of the wheels, the full tyre size and details of any spacers. Check the front lip and everyday ramps as well as the arch gap.
Explain how the boot and rear seats are normally used. Agree the height before the final alignment, then keep the measurements and settings with the car's records. Ask which alignment adjustments the original suspension allows and whether any proposed extra parts are needed for your actual target.
Wheel width, offset and tyres
Consider the whole wheel package at the intended height. Spacers and offset change its position; the fitter needs clearance to the arch, liner and suspension through the required movement.
Front mounts and damper construction
BR RS and RM MA are distinct configurations. Confirm the mounts, bearings and any camber adjustment actually supplied, along with the condition of reused components. An RM application name alone does not specify every mounting detail.
Rear seats and normal loads
The rear spring has its own seat beside the damper. Follow the chosen kit's instructions for the spring hardware and installed damper settings, with regular passenger and luggage loads included in the height discussion.
Alignment and fitting budget
Arrange the final alignment after the running height is set. Ask the fitter to record what adjustment is available at each axle. Include fitting, worn parts and any necessary follow-up work in the budget.

N-42 names the 2019-on CX-30 DMEP FWD/AWD application. The current selector contains rubber-mount BR RS and inverted-front RM MA. Compare those exact configurations and confirm supplied hardware; other BC regional range entries are not additional kits listed here.

Which CX-30 does BC Racing N-42 name?
BC lists the 2019-on CX-30 DMEP with FWD or AWD. Match the full chassis, engine, build date and original market before ordering, particularly if the car differs from that named application.
What is the difference between the listed BR RS and RM MA kits?
The BR RS option is listed with rubber top mounts. RM MA has an inverted front damper, so the difference extends beyond the top mounts. Confirm the supplied mounting parts and spring specification for the selected configuration.
Are the CX-30's rear springs separate from the dampers?
Yes. The rear coil springs sit on their own seats beside the dampers on a torsion-beam assembly. Use the selected kit's rear spring and damper instructions when setting height; the front strut adjustment method is not a four-corner instruction.
Does 2019 onwards confirm every later CX-30 version?
Later production codes, engine changes and regional versions need matching to the kit. Provide the build date, full chassis identification and original market rather than relying on the open-ended year label.
How low should I set a road-going CX-30?
Agree a height within the selected kit's instructions that leaves the required travel and wheel clearance for normal loads. Include passengers, luggage, driveway ramps and any front lip. A photograph cannot establish those limits.
Is RM MA automatically the right choice for a circuit build?
Its inverted front construction is one specification to compare. The suitable package still depends on the tyres, operating weight, travel and event requirements. Discuss the whole project before choosing suspension.
Does the number plate finder confirm CX-30 kit fitment?
The finder helps identify the car. Its chassis, engine, driven wheels and original market still need checking against the kit, along with changes to wheels, arms or mounting points.
