Which EZ‑6 / 6e do you have?1 listed kit · 1 brandReviewed 5 November 2026

An electric fastback with two model names.

The EZ-6's long roof and short rear deck suit a modest drop and a tidy set of wheels. Plan the wheel width, offset and tyres with the suspension, including clearance beneath the floor. A front lip or different wheel package changes what the installer needs to check.

The current N-49 listing names the EZ-6 EV RWD from 2024. Mazda calls the European version Mazda6e, and BC's application table names both cars, but the exact battery, market and supplied hardware still need checking. Keep a range-extender car and the earlier petrol Mazda6 separate from that named EV application.

Mazda revealed the EZ-6 at Auto China in April 2024, developed with Changan. It introduced a five-door fastback shape with rear-wheel drive, front struts and independent multi-link rear suspension. Mazda announced both battery-electric and plug-in hybrid versions for China, so the EZ-6 badge alone does not identify the powertrain.

The Mazda6e followed at the Brussels Motor Show in January 2025 as the European version of the EZ-6. Mazda announced a 78kWh battery for the UK in February 2026, after describing 68.8kWh and 80kWh versions at the European launch. Give us the battery version fitted to your car when asking about suspension.

The EZ-6 uses the SL03 platform, with a body and cabin redesigned by Mazda and its own suspension tuning. A Deepal package therefore needs a separate application check, as does anything sold for an earlier petrol Mazda6. For a modified EZ-6, start with the named kit and plan the finished wheel and tyre clearances around it.

EZ-6 EV RWD: the named N-49 application

The current shop package names the battery-electric EZ-6 RWD from 2024, with BR RS recorded as the configuration. Provide the build date, full identification and battery version before ordering so the application, mounts and retained parts can be checked.

Mazda6e: confirm the market and version

Mazda identifies the 6e as the European EZ-6, and BC's N-49 table names EZ-6/6e RWD. The shop's listing still names EZ-6 EV. Send the exact UK or other-market vehicle details, including the battery and original suspension, for confirmation against the supplied package.

Range-extender cars need a separate check

An EZ-6 with a combustion engine and range-extender system is not identified by the current EV listing. Tell us the powertrain, original market and full vehicle details. A shared body and rear-wheel-drive layout do not confirm the same springs, dampers or application limits.

Altered hardware and platform relatives

Declare changed mountings, suspension controls and competition plans. Do not substitute a Deepal or petrol Mazda6 application on the basis of platform history or the model name. Provide the proposed hardware so a complete specification can be assessed.

A change in running weight, mounting points or suspension controls needs a separate assessment. Supply the proposed hardware and event regulations before selecting springs and dampers. Agree the springs, dampers and supporting work for that build; the road application listing alone cannot confirm competition suitability.

Separate rear spring and damperThe coil spring rests between its own seats, beside a separate shock absorber. This fixed component diagram does not show vehicle dimensions, mounting hardware or suspension movement.SpringDamper

On a standard Mazda EZ-6, the rear spring and damper are mounted separately.

Component layout only. Mounts, dimensions and adjusters vary by kit.

The EZ-6 has an independent multi-link rear suspension around the rear motor. Its coil spring sits inboard on its own seat, beside the damper, as shown in Mazda's chassis illustration. The front suspension uses struts.

Check the selected package's rear springs, seats, height adjusters and retained mountings. Follow its instructions for both spring height and damper installation. For a Mazda6e, confirm the exact market version before ordering the EZ-6 package.

Understand ride height and preload

Leave space beneath the car and around the wheels.

Give the installer the wheel width, offset, tyre size and any spacers. Check inner and outer tyre clearance through steering and suspension movement, together with clearance beneath the floor and any added lip. Include the ramps and entrances the car uses regularly.

Use a workshop familiar with the exact electric vehicle and its lifting and service requirements. Agree which original parts remain, inspect their condition and arrange alignment after the height is settled. Record the settings and follow the supplied recheck schedule.

Battery and underfloor clearance

Describe the battery version and any changes beneath the car. Agree a height that leaves the necessary suspension travel and underfloor clearance for your roads and access ramps. Include any added body kit in those checks.

Wheel dimensions and tyre clearance

Provide wheel width and offset alongside tyre size, including spacers. Check clearance on both sides of the tyre through the required movement. A larger rim diameter alone does not establish a suitable wheel package.

Original mounts and suspension controls

Confirm which mounts and rubber parts the package supplies or retains. Declare any original electronic suspension controls and ask how the proposed replacement is intended to work with the exact vehicle. Do not assume a generic cancellation module is included.

Fitting, alignment and records

Allow for inspection and fitting alongside the kit. Set the usable running height before final alignment and check the vehicle-specific requirements for any affected systems. Keep the settings and inspection schedule with the service records.

BC Racing

N-49 BR RS is the current named EZ-6 EV RWD package, with rubber mounts recorded. BC's manufacturer table names EZ-6/6e RWD from 2024 and has no camber marker for N-49. Confirm the exact battery, market, mounting parts and retained hardware; range-extender and changed-car applications remain separate enquiries.

Questions about Mazda EZ‑6 / 6e coilovers.

Check the details before choosing your kit.

Which EZ-6 does the current N-49 listing name?

The current package names the Mazda EZ-6 EV RWD from 2024 and records BR RS as its configuration. Confirm the full vehicle identification, build date, battery version and original market before ordering.

Is Mazda6e the same model family as EZ-6?

Mazda identifies the Mazda6e as the European version of the EZ-6, and BC's N-49 table names both RWD models. Market and battery specifications differ, so send the exact car details for confirmation against the package supplied.

Does the EV listing confirm a range-extender application?

The current shop listing names EV. A range-extender car needs its own check of the powertrain, vehicle details and application limits. A similar body and rear-wheel-drive layout do not establish identical suspension requirements.

Are the EZ-6 rear spring and damper separate?

Yes. Mazda's own EZ-6 chassis illustration shows the spring on its own inboard seat beside the rear damper. Confirm the replacement package's rear hardware and follow its installation instructions.

Does N-49 BR RS include adjustable camber plates?

The current configuration records rubber mounts, and BC's manufacturer table has no camber marker for N-49. Ask us to confirm the supplied and retained mounts before including camber plates in your fitting plan.

What should I check before lowering an electric Mazda?

Check the exact application, wheel-and-tyre dimensions, required suspension travel and underfloor clearance. Include added lips, spacers, normal loads and everyday access ramps. Use a workshop familiar with that vehicle's service requirements.

Is there a separate track package recommended here?

The current catalogue has one named EZ-6 package without a separately verified track specification. Explain the proposed sessions, tyres and running weight, check the organiser's EV requirements and agree a suitable complete setup before ordering for that use.

Can a registration lookup confirm the battery and kit fitment?

The finder helps identify the car. Check its full vehicle details, market, powertrain and battery version against the selected kit, especially on an import. Include changes to suspension controls, wheels and mountings.
