Keep the outside clean enough to inspect
Road dirt and salt can collect around threaded bodies and locking rings. Follow the maker’s cleaning and protection guidance for the coating and materials on your kit. Cleaning is also a chance to look for damaged boots, corrosion, contact marks and changes around the rod or seals.
Use the products and method the manufacturer permits. A seized ring needs assessment; forcing it can damage the ring or thread. Give an installer access to the kit if cleaning or adjustment requires the car to be raised.
Keep a record of a change
If a noise or change in ride appears, note when it happens and whether anything else changed, including tyres, ride height or recent work. Keep photographs of visible damage or markings ready. Do not diagnose a damper from a noise description alone; other suspension components can be involved.
Contact us with the kit code if you need help finding the relevant instructions. A symptom report and identification details are more useful than ordering a part because it resembles a picture.
Check whether the damper is serviceable
Service routes differ between ranges. Some use rebuildable dampers, while other designs use replacement damper units. TEIN’s FLEX Z documentation describes a sealed structure and a replacement service; do not apply an overhaul procedure from another range to it.
The interval depends on the product and its use. Track use and environmental exposure can change the requirement. Use the current instructions or ask us to check, instead of treating one brand’s mileage figure as a rule for every coilover.
Before sending anything away
Send the kit code, serial or batch marking, affected corner and order reference first. We can establish the appropriate UK process and what information or components are needed. Keep the invoice and setup record with the car. An enquiry does not promise a warranty outcome, service price or turnaround; those follow the actual inspection and applicable process.
